2021 4th QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED)
In line with the campaign to be safe in this time of COVID-19 pandemic of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Council (NDRRMC) empowered by the Department of Education. San Antonio Elementary School enthusiastically participated the 4th quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Dill (NSED). But because of the limitations in the conduct of mass gatherings, SANES personnel performed only the “duck, cover, and hold procedure on November 11, 2021, at 9:00 am, participated by 25 Faculty and Staffs.
A school memo was given by the School DRRM Coordinator Mr. AVELINO B. COBALLES IV the day after the NSED.
Advisers were tasked to disseminate the information to their respective advisory class through the Group Chats created per section. Students and parents were encouraged to watch the Facebook Live Streaming Online Ceremonial Pressing of the Button conducted by the Civil Defense PH and let them do the “duck cover, and hold” procedure in their homes.
It is very essential to be always prepared before, during and after the disaster especially in this time of COVID-19 pandemic. This is the highlight of the DRRMS program. Making everybody be aware of the exact things that we should consider and expect in facing a disaster.
The “duck, cover and hold” procedure was held at exactly 9:00 AM. The buzzer sound blurted for one minute and it motivated everyone to be alert and awake.
In summary, the drill was successfully implemented. Preparedness and mitigation are key strategies in reducing disaster risk.
