SCHOOL PROFILE

San Antonio Elementary School caters an efficient  learners of San Antonio, Paraṅaque City. The school implemented the K-12 Curriculum for Grades one to six. In addition, San Antonio Elementary School also caters to SPED pupils to help them be more responsible citizens in the future. Another is the Alternative Learning System which accommodate out of school youth who wanted to pursue their studies. San Antonio Elementary School was chosen by the Department of Education as the only school in Paraṅaque to pilot Special Science Elementary School which started SY 2011-2012. 

At present, there are 124 teaching personnel and 24 non-teaching staff (clerk and utility) who are contractual employees. We have 1 nursing attendant, 1 electrician, 1 driver, 6 clerks, 8 utilities and 7 watchmen under local school board and Mr. Carlito T. Adducul as the school principal.

The school has 3,293 sq. m lot with 5 school buildings which has 57 instructional classrooms. Some facilities include clinic, canteen, library, Learning Resource Center (LRC), Information Computer Technology (ICT) room and an Audio Visual Room (AVR). District Office, Principal’s Office and Guidance office are among the functional rooms. The stage, known as the ‘stakeholders’ stage’ as it was derived from the collaboration, contributions and donations from Alumni, Parents, Teachers, NGOs and LGUs support,  can be found at the heart of the school.

COMMUNITY PROFILE

The school is located at Sta. Lucia St., San Antonio Valley 1, Barangay San Antonio, Paraṅaque City beside the newly constructed Legislative Building of the Paranaque, City Hall. Most people in the nearby community belong to the low and average economic class. About seventy percent (60%) of the students enrolled belong to the middle average income bracket while thirty percent (40%) are from the lower economic bracket. Hence, the students enrolled in the school come from different statuses of living.

  1. Socio-cultural

The community where the school is located shares almost the same beliefs and traditions to other local communities of Paranaque City. Fiesta is celebrated every 13th day of June in honor of San Antonio de Padua.

 

  1. Political

The school was built under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe Sr., who retired as a mayor. The elected mayor next to him was Jaime Ferrer, next was Pablo Olivarez Sr., then Joey Marquez who served for nine consecutive years and Florencio Bernabe Jr. who also served long term. Presently, the mayor of Parañaque is Edwin L. Olivarez for the second term of his office. The Barangay consults the residence for the formulation of the program. Further, these residents see to it that most barangay ordinance are implemented and followed by the concerned people as agreed upon. Barangay San Antonio Council have progressed and developed thru infrastructures and livelihood projects.  

  1. Geographical

Barangay San Antonio is located at the stretch of north side of Dr Arcadio Santos Avenue. It is bounded by Barangay Marcelo Green on the north and South Super Highway on the East.  Barangay BF homes at the Southern part, Barangay San Isidro on the West side and Barangay Don Bosco at the Northwest.

The school is located at Sta. Lucia Street, Barangay San Antonio, Parañaque City. Its landmark is the City Hall of Paraṅaque. It can be accessed using Sucat Road and Hernandez Avenue.

  1. Demography

The school is in a community of approximately 118,000 residents from Barangay San Antonio. The 20% of the population belongs to 0-12 years of age; 22% from 13-20 years old; 50% from 21-50 years old; and 8% from 51 and above years old of age. Ninety –five percent of the learners enrolled in the school come from Barangay San Antonio and 5% from other neighboring barangays. 

  1. Economy

The residents of the nearby community belong to the low and average income bracket. The community is mostly residential with small but progressive number of commercial business establishments. A high rise building which are condominium are visible in the area of barangay.
