San Antonio Elementary School successfully held its United Nations Celebration on October 16, 2025, at the Parañaque Sports Complex. The activity originally set for an earlier date, was rescheduled to this day due to the availability of the venue. The celebration aimed to promote global awareness, unity, and appreciation of cultural diversity among learners, in line with the United Nations’ vision of fostering peace and cooperation among nations. It was planned to have a parade but it did not proceed due to bad weather instead they gave time to the representatives to walk inside the city gymnasium.
The 1st part of the program began with an opening ceremony that included the Parade of Nations, where pupils proudly represented different countries dressed in colorful national costumes. The second part of the program started with a prayer and followed by singing of the national anthem, NCR Hymn and Paranaque Hymn conducted by Mrs. Mary Jane Tiongkiao a MAPEH teacher in grade six.
An opening remark was given by Dr. Flordeliza A Lopez master teacher -in-charge in Araling Panlipunan. She gave a brief introduction of how the United Nations was formed. A remarkable message was given by our very kind Dr. Arlyn M. Brigola (EPS/OIC PRINCIPAL) she emphasized the importance of cooperation and understanding between nations.
Various presentations showcased the talents of the learners, including cultural dances, songs, and short skits depicting the values upheld by the United Nations. The event was participated by teachers, pupils, parents, and other stakeholders. These activities encouraged students to express their creativity and deepen their understanding of the role of the United Nations in promoting world peace and development.
The celebration concluded with an awarding ceremony, recognizing outstanding performances and entries from both students and class groups. Everyone’s participation made the event a memorable and meaningful one.
Overall, the United Nations Celebration 2025 at San Antonio Elementary School was a success. It provided a fun, educational, and inspiring experience that strengthened students’ sense of global citizenship and appreciation for cultural diversity. The collaboration between teachers, parents, and the school administration ensured that the event achieved its goal of celebrating unity in diversity—one of the core principles of the United Nations. The program and activity were carefully planned and orchestrated by our AP school coordinator Mrs. Raquel Duran with the guidance of our Master-teacher-in-charge Dr. Flordeliza A. Lopez.
