Teachers all over the world are given full recognition of their dedication to the work they do to their learners/ students and to the whole community where they belong. They are the so – called unsung heroes of the society where they perform their duties to mould the minds of the young in order to become a better member of the society. This recognition lasts for a month from September 5 to October 5, and it will be culminated by a big celebration on the 5th day of October.
In San Antonio Elementary School, we celebrated the culminating activity on the 4th day of October 2021 with the theme “ Gurong Filipino, Katuwang sa Hamon Kasama sa Pagbangon”. The Program started at exactly 2:00 in the afternoon. This was a virtual program attended by the Kindergarten to Grade Six Teachers, Principal III, Mr Carlito T. Adducul, the District Supervisor of Paranaque District V, Mrs Marita G.Briones and the Barangay Captain of San Antonio, Captain Leopoldo Casale (he also shared an amount for the prizes). The program was divided into three parts. Part I was the preliminary activities and the awarding of deserving teachers,Part II was the Singing Contest and Part III was the Tiktok Challenge of teachers from kindergarten to Grade Six and the awarding of winners. This was hosted by our two talented teachers Ms. Ma. Fe Esperanza Tolentino and Ms Jobelle Cahimat.
The program was formally open with a prayer, followed by the Makabayan Song. Our very dear Principal, Mr Carlito T. Aduccul gave his welcome message. Mrs. Marita G. Briones, our District Supervisor inspired us with her inspirational message. Captain Pol Casale, the Barangay Captain of San Antonio, Paranaque City, actively participated in the program. He also said his piece and greeted all of us teachers. Master Teacher Ellen Valencia checked the attendance from Kindergarten to Grade Six. All were present in the said event. Before the awarding Ceremony, Pauline Joy O. Teja rendered an intermission number of which all of us were amazed by her angelic voice. That was an awesome performance. The list of teachers who received their awards was written separately. (Please see attached page)
The second part of the program was the singing contest and the Raffle of prizes which was taken care of by the Grade One teachers. The Judges of the contest were introduced by one of the Master teachers in Grade four, Ms Pelagia “Nini” Rodulfa and the criteria for judging was read by the Master Teacher in Grade one, Mrs Flordeliza Lopez. The following Judges were Joms Eugenio, the Barangay Secretary of San Antonio, Master Teacher, Terry Ruth Leano, MAPEH Coordinator of Rogelio Gatchalian Elementary School and Mr Lorence Camino, MAPEH Coordinator of FEES BF extension. We were so grateful for their presence because we knew how busy they were with their respective schedules yet they still managed to be with us.
There was so much fun as shown in the faces of the teachers seen on screen. The contestants were able to perform their part properly despite the new normal set up. The teachers from Kinder to Grade six showcased their talents. The Master Teacher of Grade Three, Ms Soledad Ricafranca gave her intermission number while waiting for the judge to come up with result of winners
The following teachers won the singing contest first place, Ms Shara Casselyn Narra of Grade One, second place Ms. Asuncion Sanchez of Grade five and the third place was Ms Wilsan Buhayo of Grade four.
The Raffle of prizes for all the teachers then followed. This was taken care of by the Grade One teachers. Many teachers brought home the bacon but there were also a lot of us who weren’t given the luck to win. Anyway everything was just for fun so nothing to worry about.
The Last part of the program was the TIKtok challenge by the teachers from kinder to Grade Six This was the most awaited part of the program because this contest is composed of five teachers and more, meaning lots of talented teachers can show their talents, creativity and gracefulness. All the grade levels were to submit their videos for tik tok dance challenge and the winners were the Grade four who got the first place, followed by the Grades One and Three who got the second place, they were tied and the generosity of our Master Teacher Ms. Nini Rodulfa came in. She volunteered to give the other grade level the prize they deserved. The third place went to the Grade Five. That was a fun celebration of the new normal situation. The program was formally closed by the Master Teacher II of Grade Six, Mr Joseph A. Villaralvo.
Indeed, we teachers deserved full recognition of the things that we do, seen and unseen. I would say that we’ve done so much not just for our learners and for our family but to our society as well. We will continue to do our job and duty well for the benefit of all. In unity to all the teachers of the world, we can make a difference and impact other people’s lives through the hardwork and dedication we have as teachers. As Filipino teachers, we continue to be the best that we can be in order to make our country forward for a better Philippines as we say, “Gurong Filipino, Katuwang sa Hamon Kasama sa Pagbangon”. Together we fight for these trying times and together we rise for a better tomorrow. “Bangon gurong Filipino sulong sa pagbabago.” Happy Teachers’ Day to all and congratulations to all the winners!
